Today the Soccer School returned from their summer break. We had some very important people come to visit. Manchester City Council' elected Lord Mayor Mark Hackett insisted on coming to see us.

His worship the Mayor spent all morning watching the players of the soccer school play their own world cup competition. He later spent some time observing a training session with next seasons under 8's team and under 9's team.

During a refreshment break his worship posed for a picture with all the world cup team players.

As you can see with all the smiling faces, the competition was going well. Right throughout the tournament any of the teams could have emerged winners.

Whilst this competition was in progress there was the small matter of a Champions League competition taking place on the adjoining area. Galatasery, Inter Milan, AC Milan, Lyon, Ajax & Barca were playing for their medals too. The French team Lyon emerged winners in this day.

The World cup came to a magnificent conclusion with Germany coming out winners.

The Lord Mayor was on hand to present the winning team with their well deserved medals.

We would like to thank his worship The Lord Mayor Mark Hackett for his time. All the children had a great day.
